Lyon travel to the Parc des Princes as leaders, level on points with Paris and with a better goal difference: seven rounds in, this game splits the top two. It has been written in the treatment room, though. Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos are all out for weeks; at 1.47 with 1xbet, a price that has stood since Tuesday, the market still gives Paris close to two chances in three.
The fixture itself has moved: scheduled for Sunday 25 at 20:45, it will now be played on Monday 26 October at 20:30, after the Paris police prefecture banned it from being staged on Sunday evening. The LFP and both clubs wanted to keep the original date; they gave in, and the broadcast switches to Ligue 1+. Saturday’s demonstrations and the NFL game booked at the Stade de France on Sunday weighed on the decision, and kick-off now falls on the evening of the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
Five straight wins, then three players gone for weeks
The streak speaks for Paris; the team sheet speaks against it. The attack loses Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia, the defence Marquinhos, out for several weeks. Nuno Mendes, nursing a thigh problem, already missed the Barcelona game: he is out of the official XI, which reads Safonov in goal, Hakimi, Zabarnyi, Pacho and Zaïre-Emery at the back, João Neves, Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz in midfield, Doué, Ferran Torres and Akliouche up front.
- PSG: Dembélé (left thigh) and Marquinhos (right thigh) in treatment, out for weeks.
- PSG: Kvaratskhelia, ACL in the right knee, operated on early in the week, a long absence; Mendes and Longoni out of the XI.
- Lyon: Openda (fibula) out until at least mid-November; Tagliafico around three weeks; Ouédraogo unavailable.
- Lyon: Nakamura suspended after his red card against Nice; Kango, Hamdani and Sulc out of the XI.
Lyon rotated on Thursday, Paris played on Tuesday
The two sides do not arrive with the same legs, and the postponement hands both an extra day of rest without closing the gap. Fonseca rotated at Hoffenheim and owned it: “a very important match against PSG”. His team lost 0-3 there. Rotation gives fresh players, not a calendar: on Monday, Lyon will play four days after Hoffenheim, Paris six after Barcelona. Fonseca’s XI is out: Tolisso starts alongside Tessmann and Morton, with Nuamah, Merah and Duranville up front.

Four of the last five PSG-Lyon games were decided by one goal
Recent history points to a tight game. Lyon won their last visit to the Parc des Princes 2-1 in April, and only the December 2024 meeting was settled by more than one goal. Without Marquinhos or Mendes at the back, I struggle to see Paris pulling away.
Lyon +1.5 at 1.84: I’m backing the margin
This bet is on the margin, not on an upset, and the postponement changes nothing to my reading. This Paris, weakened up front and at the back, rarely beats this Lyon by two goals, and the head-to-head record backs that. The handicap wins if Lyon win, draw or lose by one goal; it loses if Paris win by two or more. At 1.84 with 1xbet, the return is $146.30 on a $175 stake.
The market puts the line at about 55%; I make it 60%. The calculated stake climbs to 1.75 units: a real conviction on the margin. The risk has a face: this month Paris have already won two European games by two goals. Even weakened, that scenario exists, and it is the one that sinks the bet.
To size your own stakes, the staking calculator does the maths, and this bet goes on the public record as it is. 18+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
2-0: the European scenario sinks the bet
The risk had a face, and it showed up at the Parc des Princes: Paris won by two, the same margin as against Barcelona and Manchester City this month. Without Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos, the starting XI still did the job; Lyon, four days on from Hoffenheim, have gone a second game without scoring. Both sides arrived level on points: Paris now lead by three.
Bet lost: Lyon +1.5 at 1.84 with 1xbet, 1.75 units, a $175 loss on the public record. The line closed at 2.06: the market had drifted towards Paris by kick-off, and it was right.
