Brest v Nice: the form is Brest’s, the treatment room is everyone’s

Nice turn it around 1-2 at the Blé and take their first away points: my Brest win at 2.31 with 1xbet is lost, $25 down on the public record.

Five goals past Angers, then a point ground out at Lille: for two weeks, Brest have played on the front foot. Nice return from Lyon with a 1-2 defeat and the feeling of a winnable game slipping away. On Friday at the Stade Francis-Le-Blé, tenth hosts thirteenth, and both camps ask the same question: how do you hold a line when the treatment room has emptied it?

Two treatment rooms that look alike

The absentees will count as much as the starters. Brest first:

  • Brendan Chardonnet (calf) has not played a second this season, and Julien Lachuer does not expect him back before the November break;
  • Raphaël Le Guen, operated on for a fractured fibula, is out until 2027;
  • Giovani Versini, a calf knock picked up on Under-21 duty in early October, does not start.

Nice carry the same luggage: Laurent Abergel and Moïse Bombito are still missing, and Antoine Mendy, who ruptured a cruciate ligament, faces months out. Morgan Sanson, operated on during the summer, is short of rhythm; Ali Abdi is nursing a thigh problem and does not start either.

The official line-ups are out, and they match the picture: for Brest, Ajorque leads the line in a 4-2-3-1, with Mama Baldé and Doumbia behind him; for Nice, Wahi is the point of the 3-4-2-1, Amoura and Hein one row back, Clauss and Nkounkou at wing-back, and a back three rebuilt from what is left, where Seidu, Ndayishimiye and Abdelmonem are handed Ajorque. Two patched-up defences usually make an open game.

Momentum belongs to Brest; history belongs to Nice: across twenty meetings, Nice have eight wins, eight draws and four defeats, including a 6-0 thrashing of Brest in May 2025. Le Blé tells a different story: 4-1 to Brest in September 2025, 2-2 last February.

2.31: the market hesitates

The price is frozen on the eve of kick-off: 2.31 with 1xbet in Thursday morning’s reading, a hair under the opening price. The draw sits at 3.60, a Nice win at 3.37, close to where it opened: a modest favourite, and a market that stopped moving at the weekend, with Brest’s treatment room already priced in. Hard to argue: both teams score, both concede, and Chardonnet’s absence at Brest weighs about as much as Bombito’s at Nice.

My bet: Brest to win, small stake

I make Brest 45 per cent to win this, against the 43 per cent the price implies. The gap is there, and it is narrow: what tips me is the Nice defence, the harder hit of the two. I take Brest at 2.31 with 1xbet. If they win, a $25 stake returns $32.80 net; on a draw or a Nice win, the $25 is gone.

The stake is set by the staking calculator: 0.25 units, the floor. The market has read this game well, and I follow it with a small stake. This pick goes on my public record, win or lose. 18+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.

1-2: Nice turn the Blé around and take their first away points

Ludovic Ajorque had opened the game on a Yehvann Diouf howler (15th minute), and the form book was running the night. Nice flipped all of it: Sofiane Diop swung the match late, and in added time Diouf pushed away Kenny Lala’s equaliser from the spot, Lala sitting on eleven converted penalties in a row. First points on the road for Nice, after three empty trips: the full report is at Footmercato.

My pick is lost: Brest to win at 2.31 with 1xbet never happened, and the minimum $25 stake goes down as a loss on the public record. The price had smelled it before me: taken at 2.31, it closed at 2.41, the market drifting towards Nice all week. The most-decimated Nice defence was the one I had written off; it conceded once, and the Nice mentality did the rest.
