Paris FC’s run broke at the worst moment: five matchdays unbeaten, three wins and two draws, then the 1-0 defeat at Lorient on 10 October. Back at Jean-Bouin, Liam Rosenior returns to the ground where his team rarely loses. Franck Haise’s Rennes, for their part, have been playing every three days for a week, with Juventus on the schedule on Wednesday.

Jean-Bouin, the constant of this Paris FC

Since January, Paris FC have taken 24 points at Jean-Bouin, the best total in Ligue 1 over the period, with seven wins in their last nine home games. This season, Nice (3-0), Lyon (0-0) and Strasbourg (2-1) have come and gone without bringing the house down.

Rosenior, appointed in July, kept the spine and added to it: Pagis from Lorient, Sinayoko from Auxerre, Coppola and Koleosho staying on, Mbemba signing. The base is solid: 11 points, fifth, and an identity built around their ground.

Rennes are playing every three days

Rennes’s schedule is a grind: Auxerre on 11 October, OFI Crete at Roazhon Park in the Europa League on Thursday, Jean-Bouin on Sunday, Juventus in Turin on Wednesday. At Lyon on 19 September (0-4), Haise had made seven changes and owned it afterwards: “the first culprit is me”. In between, Rennes beat Auxerre 4-1, then turned Thursday’s game around: a goal down from the 10th minute, they equalised in the 77th and won it in stoppage time, 2-1, their first Europa League win after seventeen matches without one. At home, the record now reads six wins and a draw in all competitions.

Away from home it is another story: two wins and two defeats in four league trips, eight scored, eight conceded. And the last two meetings with Paris FC went to Rennes, 1-0 at Jean-Bouin in November 2025 and 2-1 at Roazhon in May.

  • Rennes’s official team sheet: Samba; Frankowski, Cresswell, Rouault, Reynolds; Szymański, Cissé, Thomasson; Blas, Lepaul, Soumaré. Merlin and Nordin, back in the group on Thursday, do not start.
  • Paris FC’s official team sheet settles the injury list: Ikoné and Sangui are still out, Marchetti, doubtful, does not start; Chergui and Koleosho both start.
  • Estéban Lepaul, three caps for France this autumn, on the rise on the Rennes side.

A narrow favourite

Paris FC are favourites at 2.37 at 1xbet, level with the opening price: the market gives them roughly a 42 per cent chance, ahead of Rennes and the draw. Both teams to score is 1.57 at Bet365, and the bookmakers have set the goal line at 2.75. The market has seen Rennes’s schedule and has barely moved.

My edge is thin: four points between my reading and the market’s. I take it anyway, because it runs with the context rather than against it.

My bet: Paris FC, 0.5 units

I’m backing Paris FC to win at 2.37 at 1xbet, giving them a 45 per cent chance of victory against the market’s 42. Paris FC win: $68.65 net. Draw or a Rennes win: the $50 stake is lost.

What I like: freshness, the Jean-Bouin crowd, and a Rennes side that played on Thursday and already has one eye on Juventus on Wednesday. What gives me pause: Rennes have won the last two meetings, including a 1-0 right here, and a full-strength Rennes remain above Paris FC on paper. 0.5 units, a measured stake: the Kelly calculator sets out the logic, and every bet is tracked in our public record. 18+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.

4-3: seven goals, four penalties, one overhead kick

Paris FC beat Rennes 4-3 in a seven-goal game. Maxime Lopez opened in the 14th minute and struck again just before half-time; Esteban Lepaul equalised three times from the spot (29th, 74th, 88th); Lassine Sinayoko landed an acrobatic overhead kick in the 76th, then converted the winning penalty himself in the seventh minute of added time, after a Rongier foul reviewed on video. Four penalties scored in one Ligue 1 game: not seen since 1992. The Foot Mercato round-up has the rest.

Paris FC never trailed; Rennes came back three times, always from the spot, then finished with ten, Lepaul off with a sprained ankle once the subs were used up. In the table, Paris FC climb on to the podium as runners-up to PSG; Rennes slide to fifth, with Juventus waiting for them in Turin.

The pick is won: Paris FC at 2.37 with 1xbet, dragged over the line at the end of stoppage time. A $68.65 gain, the half unit, on the public record.
