After Bruges, Lens return to Bollaert to face third-placed Paris FC

Lens come back to beat Paris FC 2-1: Koleosho opened on a counter in first-half stoppage time, Thauvin (63rd) and Thorgan Hazard (83rd) turned it around. My Lens bet at 2.40 lands: $35.08 net.

On Wednesday night Lens sank in Bruges; on Saturday they return to league duty at Bollaert against Ligue 1’s third-placed side, Liam Rosenior’s Paris FC. The market has not finished moving on this fixture: prices have kept drifting towards the Parisian club, and on Friday the Lens win trades at 2.49 with 1xbet, the Paris FC win at 2.87, close to a level contest. This price has gone the wrong way, and I am taking the Lens win, at a small stake. On Friday evening the match was still on at Bollaert, while Toulouse-Troyes and PSG-Lyon were postponed because of Saturday’s protests.

The last three matches of each team sum the fixture up, with scores read from the side of the team named.

Date Team Opponent Venue Competition Score
21/10 Lens Club Brugge away Champions League 0-3
17/10 Lens Estac Troyes away Ligue 1 3-1
13/10 Lens Sporting CP home Champions League 0-2

10/10 Paris FC Lorient away Ligue 1 0-1
19/09 Paris FC Strasbourg home Ligue 1 2-1

Seventeen shots in Bruges, no goal

Lens took seventeen shots in Belgium, put six on target and scored none. Cahuzac pointed to a realism still to be worked on; Udol, on RMC, put it more bluntly: “we have to be killers in the box”. In the Champions League, Lens have not scored since the win over Slavia; in Ligue 1, they remain the league’s second-highest scorers, 14 goals, with back-to-back wins over Lyon and then at Troyes.

The run of fixtures is heavy: four matches in twelve days between Lyon, Sporting, Troyes and Bruges, and only three days between Belgium and Bollaert. On Friday, Cahuzac picked his side: “either we complain and do nothing but cry, or we work with our strengths and move forward”. He wants a stable core and less rotation. In the last twenty minutes, Lens legs may feel it: that is where the game could slip away.

Bollaert, the best home record in Ligue 1, cracked twice

Since last year, Lens hold the best home record in the league: 16 wins and 48 points. The house has still let two of its last four home games go, against Lorient and against Sporting, two defeats without scoring. Recent meetings favour Lens as well: 5-0 last February, 2-1 in October 2025.

Third in the table, light on their travels

Paris FC sit third on 14 points, in a five-team pack alongside Lyon, PSG, Lille and Monaco. At home, Rosenior’s side have beaten Strasbourg and then Rennes in a wild game; on the road, they are a different team: three goals in three away matches, the thirteenth-best away attack in the league, and that goalless defeat at Lorient. A brittle defence has conceded seven goals in seven rounds, and the attack leans on Sinayoko, six goals, the league’s second-top scorer. Behind the scenes, the club is changing hands: Pierre Ferracci is leaving the presidency and Antoine Arnault is expected to succeed him.

Ganiou operated on, Gradit out of the eleven

  • Ganiou (left knee) had surgery on 23 October and is out for several weeks, per the club’s medical update; Cahuzac speaks of “three big absences for a long while”;
  • Nawrocki (knee) is out for the season and Sima (thigh) is not expected back before the end of November;
  • Gradit resumed group training on Thursday; the last session was meant to settle it, and it did: he does not start, the fourth match in a row to kick off without him;
  • At Paris FC, Sangui (muscle) and Ikoné (thigh) are out, per the club supporters’ site.

The starting elevens are in: Risser keeps the Lens goal, Abdulhamid, Baidoo and Todibo line up as the back three, Thauvin and Sotoca start behind Ivanović. Paris FC go with their 4-2-3-1: Sinayoko up front, Koleosho, Pagis and Kebbal in support, Lopez and Lees-Melou in midfield. The reading of the match does not move, and neither does the bet.

At 2.40, I take Lens at the minimum stake

The market kept changing sides this week: the Lens win went from 2.09 at the open to 2.49 on Friday with 1xbet, the Paris FC win from 3.58 to 2.87, a clear move against the home advantage. My price stays 2.40; the market of the day gives Lens a little over 40 percent, and I make it 43. The gap is small, and the staking method lets it grow no further: it imposes its floor here, 0.25 units, $25 on Lens to win in ninety minutes.

If Lens win, the bet pays $35.08; a draw or a Paris FC win loses the $25. Why Lens, after Wednesday’s collapse? Because home form and travel form weigh more than one European night: Lens at home are still the most winning side in the league over the past year, and Paris FC on the road do not score enough to be worth 2.87. This bet joins the public record, win or lose. 18+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.

2-1: Bollaert turned after the hour

The game hung on one thread for an hour. Luca Koleosho put Paris FC ahead on a fast break in first-half stoppage time, 45+2, the last ball before the break, and Lens went in behind in their own house. The turn came quickly: Thauvin equalised on 63, and Thorgan Hazard, on at 61 for Ivanović, settled it on 83. Paris FC managed one shot on target in ninety minutes, the Koleosho goal, and Risser finished without a save to make. The heavy legs I feared in the last twenty minutes, after four matches in twelve days, belonged to the visitors.

Lens make it three league wins in a row, after Lyon and Troyes, and sit on 13 points; Paris FC stay on 14 and keep their place in the leading pack. The home-and-away read behind my bet held to the end.

My bet lands: the Lens win, taken on Thursday at 2.40 with 1xbet at the minimum stake of 0.25 units ($25), pays $35.08 net. The odds closed at 2.46 at kickoff. I made Lens 43 per cent against a shade over 40 for the market: a thin edge, cashed tonight, and more of them will be needed to make a season.
