At 1.45 against Le Havre, Lille leave me no edge
Lille beat bottom club Le Havre 1-0: my win pick, taken at 1.449, returns $11.23 on a minimum stake. Tiago Santos on a stretcher is the night’s real cost.

Lille lost at Nice just before the break (2-1), their first defeat of the season, after dominating the ball without converting it. The restart has gone well since: a 2-1 friendly win over Zulte Waregem, and an opponent that has yet to win anything, Le Havre, bottom on two points. On Friday the best price on a Lille win is 1.47 at Betano; my bet, taken at 1.45 with 1xbet on Tuesday, does not move. At that price I lean towards a home win, with no margin left in it.
Lille get their midfield back
Thursday’s press conference sorted the sickbay: “Except Ethan Mbappé and Hamza Igamane, everyone is fit”, Ancelotti ruled. Mbappé (ankle) targets Brest or Monaco within one or two weeks; Igamane, training on his own, will not play again before the end of the year.
On the pitch, the team remain solid in the league: eight goals scored, four conceded, three clean sheets. The official line-up is a 4-2-3-1: Özer; Tiago Santos, Nianzou, Alexsandro, Perraud; Mukau, Bentaleb; Perrin, Bakwa, Kjærgaard; Giroud. The two men who were doubts last week, Nianzou and Bentaleb, both start; Ueda, who scored in the Kirin Cup final over the break, does not.
Le Havre still chase a first win, with a squad to nurse
Le Havre have not won a match yet: two draws, three defeats, two points, eighteenth place. The 6-1 friendly win over Boulogne flatters a weakened squad. Since the restart Digard has Mwanga and Ndiaye back, but the treatment room stays busy:
- Pembélé (groin and knee), Mpasi (Achilles) and Mambimbi (Achilles) are out; Zagadou, back after his cruciate injury, is still short of match sharpness.
- Jelert, troubled by a thigh problem, does not start; Le Havre’s internationals returned in good health.
- Seko started all four of Japan’s matches over the break, replaced once: his freshness will show quickly.
- Richardson starts, as expected.
In the Le Havre goal, the question left open on Thursday is settled: Gallon starts, and Bodart, a Lille academy graduate who arrived on a free in late September, will wait for another chance against his former club. Gallon had not reassured against Boulogne; he keeps the goal anyway.
Le Havre can take points at Pierre-Mauroy

Lille to win, but the price leaves nothing
The Lille win has drifted from 1.45 to 1.47 at Betano: at that price, the market gives Lille 68%; I give them 70%. The gap is too small to justify a big stake. The market has read this match the way I have, and I say it plainly: with no edge, I stake the minimum.
The main risk lay in the schedule: Lille play another Champions League match early next week, ten players went away on international duty over the break, and a rotation was possible. The official line-ups rule it out: Ancelotti keeps nothing back for the European week. For $25 staked (0.25 units): Lille win and the bet returns $11.23 net; a draw or a Le Havre win and the $25 are lost.
The staking method tells the same story: when the probability matches the price, you bet small. This pick will join my public record, win or lose. 18+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
1-0: Bakwa did enough
Dilane Bakwa opened the scoring in the fifth minute and the scoreboard never moved again: 1-0. A first league win for Lille since 13 September, while Le Havre head home still bottom and still winless, despite a draw and a win on their last two visits to Pierre-Mauroy. The favourites suffered for the points: Le Havre had 17 shots, Lille five.
The pick lands: Lille to win at 1.449 with 1xbet, a $25 stake, $11.23 back. Minimum stake, minimum return: with no edge to defend, that was the right size, even if the price had drifted out to 1.60 by kick-off. The night has a shadow, though: Tiago Santos left on a stretcher in the 22nd minute, caught on the knee by an Amir Richardson tackle, no diagnosis by the evening, three days before Lille return to Champions League football.
