The table has these two level: Monaco and Lille both sit on 14 points after seven Ligue 1 games, LOSC ahead on goal difference, Monaco fifth. October has pulled them apart. On Wednesday, Lille folded again at home against Galatasaray (2-4), a third European defeat of the season. On Thursday, Monaco beat Freiburg 3-0, goals from Brunner, L. Camara and Fati, and sit on six points from two Conference League games. Same tally in the league, two European weeks at opposite ends.
Monaco carry their own irritation: the 1-0 defeat at Lorient on 18 October, their first league loss of the season, dropped the leaders to fifth. Around that, the football holds: a 2-2 with Toulouse on 10 October, a 2-1 win at CSKA Sofia four days later, then this 3-0 on Thursday. Louis-II has not let a game go all season: four wins and a draw at home, in every competition.

Seven goals conceded in eight days for Lille
On 13 October, Lille lost 3-0 at Arsenal. On the 21st, Galatasaray came and won 4-2 at LOSC, a third European defeat of the season, despite a Soriba Diaoune double. In between, a 1-1 with Brest. A back line that concedes seven goals in eight days does not reset in three training sessions: the landmarks move, and the last quarter of an hour becomes a passage to survive. Özer still stops 82.6% of the shots that reach him, more than Hrádecky’s 79.3%: these seven goals are not a goalkeeper’s affair.
2.6 points per game with Brunner, 0.5 without him
Brunner, suspended in the league, missed the last two rounds: the draw with Toulouse, then Lorient. With him, Monaco take 2.6 points per league game (four wins, one draw); without him, 0.5 (one draw, one defeat). The probable line-ups put him back leading the line on Sunday. Filipe Luís saw himself “in the performance of his players” against Freiburg, while admitting he “did not do well” at Lorient: his attack gets its engine back at the right time. One caveat: Monaco played on Thursday night, Lille on Wednesday, and the rest days favour the visitors.
Lille’s treatment room is the busier one
- Lille: Igamane (knee), T. Santos (knee) and Ueda (foot) are out.
- Lille: Sahraoui remains a doubt, coach’s decision.
- Monaco: Dier (muscle), Idumbo (groin) and Benzahra are unavailable.
- The line-ups stay probable: to be confirmed on Sunday.
Lille have won the last three meetings
The recent record weighs: Lille won 2-1 and 1-0 at home in 2025, then 1-0 at Louis-II last May, three straight wins. Monaco have not beaten LOSC since a 1-0 in April 2024, and a 0-0 already settled their meeting of October 2024. Across Monaco’s 24 home league games against LOSC since 2000, they have failed to score in 11. These games are tight, and Lille know how to play them. That is why my estimate of a Monaco win stops at 48%.
Monaco at 2.15: the bet, and the minimum stake
I make Monaco 48% to win. At 2.15 with 1xbet, the price of my bet, the market implies just over 46%. The draw is 3.50, Lille 3.86, a price that has drifted from 3.60 at opening: Lille’s European slump is already in the numbers. I see no clear gap between my reading and the market’s, and the stake says so: 0.25 units, $25, the minimum. Monaco win: +$28.70. Draw or Lille win: -$25. The bet wins if Thursday’s Monaco, the one that brushed Freiburg aside, meets a Lille defence still to be rebuilt; it loses on another closed Louis-II, like last May.
The stake follows the Kelly calculator; the result will swell or dent my public record. 18+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
1-1 at Louis-II: nobody broke the match open
The match closed up, the scenario I had marked down as the losing one for the bet. Monaco stay unbeaten at Louis-II this season, but that is a second home draw in the league after Toulouse; Lille, winners of the last three head-to-heads, take the point home. Fourteen points apiece before kick-off, fifteen at the final whistle.
The bet loses: Monaco to win at 2.15, 0.25 units, minus $25. The minimum stake weighed how thin the gap was between my reading and the market’s; on this one, the market read it better than I did.
