Real Madrid 4-1 Sevilla: Bellingham’s backheel, Mbappé’s roulette and a double that cuts the gap on Barcelona to six points
A backheel from Jude Bellingham, a roulette turn and a double touch: Kylian Mbappé’s double gave Real Madrid a 4-1 win over Sevilla at the Bernabéu on LaLiga matchday nine and cut Barcelona’s lead to six points.

In the 37th minute, with his back to play at the edge of the box, Jude Bellingham released a backheel. Kylian Mbappé turned on the ball with a roulette touch, beat Odysséas Vlachodimos with a double touch and sidefooted it in. That made it 2-0 against Sevilla, and for Marca it is the finest goal the Frenchman has scored since joining Real Madrid.
Two goals up at the break
Arda Güler had opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a left-footed lob over Vlachodimos. Mbappé doubled the lead seven minutes later, and Real went in at half-time 2-0 up. After the restart he converted a penalty with a panenka (63rd), his second of the night. Manu Bueno pulled one back for Sevilla in the 80th minute, and the 4-1 arrived in the 82nd, with Yan Diomandé’s name on it.
So Foot puts Mbappé on eight league goals, Marca on eleven in eleven matches in all competitions. So Foot also counts eight Real goals in four days, after the four against Roma in the Champions League.
Marca builds the duel with Lamine Yamal
The day before, Barcelona had won 2-5 at Betis, with Lamine Yamal opening the scoring in the 10th minute. Marca’s headline, “Mbappé se pica con Lamine y firma su mejor gol con el Real Madrid”, reads the Frenchman’s strike as a reply and sets up the contest between the two ahead of the Clásico and the Ballon d’Or vote.
Real climb to third on 21 points, six behind Barcelona, who lead LaLiga on 27. On 97 official goals for the club, Mbappé has the hundred in sight.
