Tottenham: De Zerbi to take his squad to Marbella after Old Trafford
Bottom of the Premier League with two points from five games, Tottenham will fly to Marbella straight after Saturday’s trip to Old Trafford. Nine days in Andalusia to gel a rebuilt squad before hosting Coventry.

The change of scenery starts tonight. According to BBC Sport and Foot Mercato, Tottenham will fly to Marbella once Saturday’s trip to Manchester United is over, for a camp of several days in Andalusia. Nine full days will then remain before promoted Coventry visit on the Monday after.
The table explains the trip. Five games without a win, two draws, two points, a goal difference of −6: Spurs sit bottom of the Premier League. Roberto De Zerbi, who took over in late March, was handed ten summer signings for more than £250m (Foot Mercato counts the figure in euros). A long international break, then a packed schedule: the new players never got the weeks of work that build patterns of play. When a dressing room changes face that much, the timing of a press or the angle of a pass pays the price.
A sunshine camp in October, a rare move
English clubs usually keep warm-weather trips for the winter break. This one comes in October, a week after the international window closed: up to 25 °C forecast in Marbella against the rain expected in Enfield, where Tottenham train. According to Foot Mercato, De Zerbi had already taken Marseille on such trips several times.
Old Trafford first
The camp changes nothing about Saturday’s match: it begins after the final whistle. This morning, the market had Tottenham at 4.68 with 1xbet and Manchester United at 1.78 with Betano: roughly a win in five for Spurs. Our full preview covers how we read the game.
Nothing is official: the club has not confirmed the trip and the exact length of the stay is unclear. BBC Sport counts the nine days between the two games, Foot Mercato speaks of “several days” in Spain.
