Alex Scott and Ezri Konsa out of England squad for Czechia

Alex Scott and Ezri Konsa have left the England camp after the 7-0 win in Croatia and miss Tuesday’s game against Czechia at Wembley. The odds market has not moved.

Alex Scott and Ezri Konsa out of England squad for Czechia

Alex Scott was making his first England start in Rijeka on Saturday. He went off in the 70th minute, replaced by James Garner, and left the camp on Monday morning. Ezri Konsa played all 90 minutes of the 7-0 win over Croatia. The Football Association kept its statement short: the pair “have returned to their respective clubs for further assessment”.

Six to eight weeks out for Scott

The Bournemouth midfielder faces a long spell out: six to eight weeks according to the BBC, up to two months in other reports. Most outlets point to a thigh problem, Sky to a tendon. The full diagnosis will come in Bournemouth.

Konsa is the unknown. Nothing has filtered about the nature or the severity of his injury, and he was already carrying a niggle before the trip to Prague on 29 September. Thomas Tuchel has called up no replacements: after Nico O’Reilly’s withdrawal, covered by Rico Lewis from the under-21s, the squad is down to 22 players for Wembley.

The bill for Bournemouth and Arsenal

Bournemouth play nine matches between 10 October and 8 November. Arsenal host Leeds on Saturday with a defence already missing Saliba, and wait for the results of Konsa’s scans.

The market has not moved

For the bettor, the double withdrawal changes nothing in the balance of the game: England have shortened from 1.20 at the open to 1.14 with 10BET, while Czechia, three defeats in three group games, remain at 22.00 with 1xbet. England -2.5 goals at 2.00 with Unibet carries the same message: the market still expects a big home win. The full match read is in the England vs Czechia preview.
