Ligue 1: ten-man Lille hold Monaco, the LOSC go top ahead of PSG-Lyon (1-1)

Down to ten after Nianzou’s straight red (66th minute), Lille held Monaco to a 1-1 draw and go top of Ligue 1 on goal difference, ahead of Paris and Lyon, who meet on Monday. My Monaco bet at 2.15 is down.

Ligue 1: ten-man Lille hold Monaco, the LOSC go top ahead of PSG-Lyon (1-1)

Lille’s goal came from a high recovery: in the 24th minute Soriba Diaoune played Ethan Mbappé through, and his one-touch finish with the left opened the scoring. Monaco had the ball, Lille had the goal. Ansu Fati went off injured inside the first quarter of an hour, replaced by Mathys Detourbet.

A straight red, and a shut door

The match turned in the 66th minute: Tanguy Nianzou saw a straight red for a studs-up challenge on Paris Brunner. Eight minutes later Edan Diop, on at half-time, equalised with a cross-shot that troubled Berke Özer. Lille then closed the game down to the final whistle, six added minutes included. The numbers sum the match up: 16 shots, six on target and 58% of possession for Monaco, four shots and two on target for Lille.

Nabil Bentaleb described the defensive shift to Ligue 1+: “We leave with a feeling of unfinished business. […] I think it is a good point to take here. […] We played a lot with ten men, so we are happy to leave with a point.”

LOSC first, PSG-Lyon on Monday

Lille move to the top of the table: 15 points and a goal difference five better than Monaco’s, who also have 15. The LOSC are provisional leaders, and the two sides who can overtake them play on Monday: Paris and Lyon, both on 14 points with a game in hand, meet at 20:30 CET; the winner would go to 17 points and top the table.

My pre-match bet is down: Monaco to win at 2.15 with 1xbet, a minimal $25 stake. The draw was priced at 3.65 with 10BET before kick-off, a touch more than one chance in four by the market’s reckoning. The full read of the match stays in the preview, and the lost $25 is already on the public record. 18+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
