Conference League: Monaco beat Freiburg 3-0, two wins from two before the visit of Lille
AS Monaco beat SC Freiburg 3-0 at the Stade Louis II on Thursday, with goals from Paris Brunner, Lamine Camara and Ansu Fati. On Sunday, Lille travel to the principality level on Ligue 1 points.

A sombrero over Rosenfelder and a low finish off his left foot: Paris Brunner broke the deadlock for Monaco just before half-time on Thursday. Lamine Camara (83rd) and Ansu Fati, deep in added time, made it 3-0 against SC Freiburg.
At 20, the German already has eight goals in nine matches this season. On the clubs’ first meeting, Freiburg, third in the Bundesliga, held out for an hour: Mio Backhaus pushed away a Camara effort as early as the 24th minute, and the visitors unsettled Monaco after the break. Camara stretched the lead with a side-footed finish, after a blocked Fati attempt, and Fati, played in by Matthis Abline, sealed the score with a left-foot finish into the far corner. Brunner came close to a second.
850 away fans, coach trips under escort
The Freiburg away day was under close watch. A Monegasque ministerial decree of 15 October (n° 2026-574) capped the visiting support at 850 inside the Stade Louis II, and only fans travelling on escorted coaches were allowed into the ground. Parts of the principality were closed to Freiburg supporters, with the authorities citing arrests and trouble on previous trips to Nantes, Nice, Lens and Lille. Before kick-off, Filipe Luís wanted no part of the favourite tag for his side.
What it changes for Sunday
Six points from six put Monaco sixth in the Conference League. On Sunday, they host Lille: fourth against fifth in Ligue 1, level on points. Lille lost 2-4 to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday, and won at the Louis II in May (0-1). Monaco will be without Eric Dier and Stanis Idumbo, both injured. On Thursday afternoon, Monaco were priced at 2.148 with 1xbet for the weekend, a slight favourite. My full read of the match, odds included, is in the Monaco-Lille preview.
