OM: Genesio aligned with his board, but a stretched squad for Troyes
Four straight league defeats and 17th place, but Bruno Genesio still has the backing of Grégory Lorenzi and Stéphane Richard. The treatment room is less generous.

A coach in 17th place who says he agrees with his president is not the usual Friday line. At his press conference, Bruno Genesio confirmed the review held with sporting director Grégory Lorenzi and president Stéphane Richard: “It was important to take stock after this first cycle.” Then: “We are aligned with my sporting direction and my president. We have the same ideas, in the short term, to get out of this difficult situation.”
The picture: three points from five games, four straight league defeats, five in all competitions. The only win dates back to 21 August against Strasbourg (4-0).
“I am not worn out”
Asked about his own state, the coach brushed the idea of burnout aside: “I am not worn out and I am not moaning, contrary to what I may have heard. I am fine, thank you for worrying about me.” He also named what irritated him in the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain (1-2): a dressing room satisfied with having “only lost 2-1”.
On the project, he asked for deadlines further away than next Sunday: “I wanted a projection not just on the short term, to know already what we will do next season.” And one clear limit: “If I am told to shut up shop and win games 1-0, that is not my project.”
A four-game run to turn the corner
The calendar suits it: Troyes on Sunday (20:45 at the Stade de l’Aube), then Angers, Le Havre, Toulouse. Around the club, the margin already has a number: on RMC, Daniel Riolo demands four wins from this run and “more than eight points”.
The treatment room picks the team: Hojbjerg out (thigh injury), Weah suspended, Cornelius unavailable, Gouiri and Kondogbia doubtful. The good news is defensive: Nnadi, back from knee surgery, is operational again.
For the punter, the number to keep sits elsewhere. At 1.93, the market gives Marseille the win at Troyes roughly once in two, 16th against 17th: the squad gap weighs more than the form. My full read of the game is in my Troyes v OM prediction.
